Section 150-3 makes it unlawful to act as a hawker, peddler, or solicitor within Town limits without first obtaining and paying for a license. The chapter defines a hawker or peddler as anyone who sells or offers goods, wares, books, or merchandise door to door or from a vehicle, and a solicitor as anyone who takes orders for goods or services, or who asks for funds for any cause. Section 150-5 requires the written application at least two weeks before the first day of solicitation, listing vehicle identification, the goods or services offered, the applicant's name and address, any past misdemeanor or felony convictions, and a police background check obtained at the applicant's expense from the town or city where the solicitor lives.

A nonrefundable application fee under Section 150-4 is set by Town Board resolution, and Section 150-7 caps the license term at one year and floors it at three months, but every license still expires December 31 regardless of issue date. or after half an hour before sunset absent an invitation, and no standing in the Memorial Day parade route on Long Pond Road.
