Stonecrest, GA Soliciting & Door-to-Door: Solicitor Permits (2026)

Sec. 15.7.2 of the Stonecrest Code makes it unlawful to canvass or solicit orders, sales, subscriptions or any other business at residences in the city without first registering with the City Manager or a designee and paying the regulatory fee. That fee is $100.00 per registration under Sec. 15.7.4, and the registration card issued on approval, which shows the firm's name and the representative's name, is valid for only 90 days; it can be renewed once in the same calendar year for another 90-day period without a new background investigation or fee.

Every registrant is fingerprinted and photographed, and must carry the resulting identity card while soliciting and show it to each customer and at each door. Solicitation on public streets, in parks, or house-to-house is confined to the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. under Sec. 15.7.6, and no single firm, corporation or organization may have more than five solicitors working in the city at the same time under Sec. 15.7.7. Solicitors may not misrepresent who they are soliciting for, must leave a property when asked, and cannot approach any residence or business posted with a "No Soliciting" sign. A registration can be suspended or revoked for violating any ordinance or losing the required good character.
