Woodbridge, NJ Special Events & Permits: Block Party Permits (2026)

1(a) bars anyone other than the Township from closing a municipal street for a block party without first obtaining a Block Party Street Closure Permit issued by the Municipal Clerk after Council approval. Applications must reach the Clerk at least 30 days before the event on official forms and must list applicants' and affected property owners' names, addresses and phone numbers, the closure dates and times, the closure method and barrier locations, any temporary structures or rides to be placed in the roadway, a signed agreement to abide by permit conditions, a designated emergency contact, and an acknowledgment that only block-party, municipal and emergency vehicles may enter the closed street.

Council must deny a permit if any Council finding required for issuance is contrary, application information is false, the applicant won't agree to conditions, emergency vehicle access would be blocked, the same roadway had a significant block-party closure within the prior 11 months, or more than 25% of affected residents oppose the application.
