Woodbridge, NJ Special Events & Permits: Parade Permits (2026)

1(b) bars any person, association, firm or corporation other than the Township from closing a municipal street for a parade, street fair, sidewalk sale, concert or other special event (block parties are handled separately under § 7-2A) without first obtaining Special Event Street Closure Approval from the Municipal Council. Applications go to the Municipal Clerk at least 45 days before the event on official Township forms and must identify the applicant, all cross streets and connecting streets to be closed, the date and duration (with an optional rain date), a description of temporary structures or stages, staging and breakdown areas, a signed agreement to abide by all conditions, and an emergency contact.

1(a)3, no less than 4 days before the scheduled parade date, listing the approximate number of marchers, participating organizations, a description by type and quantity of vehicles, floats and equipment, and the approximate order of the procession. Once filed, no changes to the Line of March are permitted. Council must deny an application if information is false, the applicant won't agree to conditions, emergency response would be blocked, or a Business District street has already been closed three times that year during peak business hours. The Municipal Clerk may summarily revoke an approval for disaster, riot or other emergency, notifying the applicant's designated contact.
