Bensalem, PA Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Section 156-4 of the Bensalem Township Code makes several park activities unlawful unless the Bensalem Township Park and Recreation Board or its duly authorized agent grants written authorization first, and clause (3) puts organized group use of any park or recreation area squarely inside that permit requirement: 'For any organized group or groups to use the park and recreational areas.' The same section requires the Board's written sign-off before anyone can cut or remove trees, shrubbery or plants (clause 1), hunt or trap wildlife (clauses 2 and 4), or operate a motorized vehicle in a park (clause 6), so an organized softball league, church picnic or company outing needs the same written authorization as those other restricted uses.

Section 156-3 separately bars building an unguarded fire, selling alcohol, gambling, soliciting funds or running a commercial enterprise in a park at any time, rules an authorized group event must still follow even after it has the Board's written permission. Section 156-5 places general supervision of Township park property and equipment with the Park and Recreation Board, the same body named in Section 156-4 as the authorizing agent. Section 156-6 sets the penalty for holding an unauthorized group event: a fine or penalty of not more than $600.00 for each offense plus costs of prosecution, and, if unpaid, imprisonment in the Bucks County Prison for up to 30 days.
