Terrebonne Parish, LA Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Terrebonne Parish Code § 21-35 requires a public property use permit (PPUP) for anyone who wants to host an event on or otherwise use property owned by the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government (TPCG). Applications go to the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department, which issues or denies the permit at its discretion; the ordinance is explicit that filing an application does not guarantee approval. A $500 deposit is required whenever the event involves reserved, restricted or exclusive access to a facility or when alcohol will be present, and the same deposit applies to full or partial closures of public roads for placing construction equipment or dumpsters.

TPCG lists the deposit as covering cleanup and repair costs; parish staff conduct a final inspection of the grounds before refunding the balance by check. The deposit requirement specifically names Edward P. "Bubby" Lyons Courthouse Square and Bandstand, Rotary Centennial Plaza, Downtown Memorial Park, the Downtown Marina, the Adult Softball Complex, Airbase Park and Bayou Country Sports Park, so any event at these venues should budget for it up front. Applicants must submit at least 14 days before the event date. TPCG may decline to process a late application altogether, but if it agrees to process one anyway, it charges a nonrefundable $250 late fee on top of the deposit.
