All residential pools in Yonkers must comply with NYS Residential Code Appendix G (effective May 12, 2020). Barriers must be at least 48 inches high, measured outside the enclosure. Gates must be self-closing, self-latching, opening outward from the pool, with latch release at least 40 inches above grade on the pool side. Bottom clearance cannot exceed 2 inches. Chain-link mesh is limited to 2.25 inches diagonal unless slats reduce openings to 1.75 inches. Temporary 48-inch fencing is required during construction and must be replaced with permanent barriers within 90 days.
