Fulshear requires a building permit for any swimming pool capable of holding 24 inches or more of water before construction begins.
The City of Fulshear Development Services Department issues building permits for residential pools and spas through its permit application process. Any pool that can hold 24 inches or more of water triggers the permit requirement. Permits are reviewed under the city's adopted 2015 International Residential Code and 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code amendments. Most Fulshear subdivisions, including Cross Creek Ranch, Weston Lakes, and Fulbrook, also require architectural review committee approval before the city permit is issued.
Constructing or installing a pool holding 24 inches or more of water without first obtaining a city building permit, or beginning work before required HOA architectural approval.
