Kenton County, KY Trash & Recycling: Bin Placement Rules (2026)

Kenton County Code of Ordinances Section 50.032 defines where and when waste containers can appear in public view. For residential and agricultural uses, solid waste containers go along the roadside or curbside fronting the property, but generators cannot set them out more than 12 hours before the scheduled collection, and every reusable storage container must be pulled back off the roadside or curbside within 12 hours after collection happens. The section separately routes commercial, institutional, and industrial uses that require bulk storage containers to keep those containers on private property in areas collection vehicles can reach, rather than at the curb at all. Read together with the once-weekly floor in Section 50.033 and the container specifications in Section 50.017, this means a resident's 12-hour set-out and pull-in window is the operative curb-time rule regardless of which day the private hauler actually services the address.
