Full Breakdown

Residential solid waste, recycling, and yard waste containers must be stored on the property between collections and placed in the right-of-way, adjacent to the street, only on the designated weekly collection day set by the Public Service Director and approved by Council. Containers cannot be placed between the sidewalk and curb before 4:00 p.m. the day preceding pickup, and must be removed from the right-of-way no later than 7:00 a.m. the day following collection. Containers left out early or late can trigger a nuisance notice under the chapter's scattered-refuse provisions.

Violations & Fines

Placing containers curbside before 4 p.m. the day before, or leaving them out past 7 a.m. the day after collection, is a violation subject to a written correction notice; uncorrected conditions can be declared a public nuisance and abated at the owner's expense.
