Full Breakdown

Manteca Municipal Code § 13.02.160 sets the rules for where and when carts sit. Residential customers place carts in the gutter next to the curb, spaced about two feet apart and three feet from parked cars. Containers can't go out at the curb until sundown the day before collection, and every container has to be pulled back in during the same collection day; between pickups, carts must be stored out of sight from the street. Alley-served customers may store containers in the alley as long as they don't block traffic, and any gate to a container storage area has to stay unlocked on collection day.

Violations & Fines

Leaving a cart at the curb outside the allowed window, or storing it in street view between pickups, violates § 13.02.160(D) and is enforceable as a code infraction, with fines up to $500 for repeat violations.
