Full Breakdown

Manteca doesn't run a free curbside bulk-item day. Under the city's fee schedule, solid waste crews retrieve furniture, appliances and other bulky items as a paid special pick-up: a residential refrigerator runs $35 plus time and materials, and miscellaneous items like a couch or chair are billed at the low-income senior monthly rate plus time and materials. Other special pick-ups bill by the hour off the adopted labor rates. Municipal Code § 13.02.130 authorizes the public works director to provide these special collection services and charge the customer the city's actual cost, including disposal fees.

Violations & Fines

Dumping bulky items at the curb without a scheduled pick-up violates the city's unlawful dumping ban under § 13.02.150 and can be declared a public nuisance subject to abatement under § 13.02.200.
