Chapter 21, Article XI of the Tallahassee Code of Ordinances governs Solid Waste Collection and Disposal (Ordinance 11-O-02AA). Residential garbage and recycling carts must be placed at the curb by 6:30 AM on the scheduled collection day, and no earlier than the day before service. Containers must be returned to storage near the home no later than the day following service. Carts should be spaced at least 3 feet from obstacles and other containers, handles facing away from the curb. Bulky items and yard waste may be placed no sooner than the weekend before pickup.
