Trash and recycling carts must be stored inside an animal-resistant enclosure between pickups, set out no earlier than 5:00 AM on collection day, and removed from the curb the same day.
Under the Town's solid waste ordinance, carts cannot be set at the curb prior to 5:00 AM on collection day unless they are kept inside an approved bear shed. After pickup, bins must be returned to their storage location, which must be an animal-resistant enclosure that meets the Town's bear-box specifications (metal/stone/brick/concrete construction, front-facing door, snow-shedding roof, plunging pins on top and bottom). Bins may not block sidewalks, driveways, or the snow-removal right-of-way.
