Mosinee, WI Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Section 66-107(a) of the Mosinee Code of Ordinances, part of Chapter 66's Article III on mandatory recycling, sets the schedule for the city's bulk brush program: city crews pick up brush, branches and Christmas trees during the third week of each month rather than on the regular weekly trash day. Before setting material out, residents must remove any rope, wire, plastic or other objects from the branches or brush, and the material must be neatly stacked next to the alley or curb with the cut ends facing the alley or curb so crews can load it efficiently.

This monthly schedule is distinct from the weekly household garbage and recycling pickups described elsewhere in Chapter 66, and it is separate from the leaf and grass rules in the same section, which route those materials to burning, home composting or the city's lawn waste transfer site instead of curbside collection. The provision was adopted by Ordinance No. 92-1 in 1992 and has not been superseded by later amendments visible in the code, so residents planning a fall cleanup or storm debris removal should expect the pickup only in the designated week, not on demand.

Large brush piles left out on other weeks, or piles still tangled with wire, rope or plastic debris, risk being passed over by the crew rather than triggering a fine, since this section describes a service schedule rather than a prohibition with its own penalty clause.
