Code of Ordinances Ch. 21, Art. XI (§§ 21-487–21-515) governs solid waste collection. Bulky items — appliances, furniture, mattresses, bikes, disassembled play sets, and similar household items up to 6 feet × 4 feet × 4 feet — are collected biweekly curbside at no extra charge for residential accounts. Set-out no earlier than the weekend before your assigned pickup day; containers and items must be at the curb by 6:30 AM on the service day and returned to the property no later than the following day. Electronics and hazardous materials are not accepted curbside; take them to the Leon County Hazardous Waste Center (7550 Apalachee Pkwy). Commercial accounts must schedule a special pickup.
