Sec. 24-65(a) sets garbage collection normally once per week, excluding holiday weeks, with the schedule available through the department of public works; equipment failure or unforeseen circumstances can alter the schedule. Placement rules under Sec. 24-65(b) require customers to place containers curbside on the address side of the street, positioned 2 to 4 feet from the roadway edge, never in the public right-of-way, and not blocking sidewalks, streets, alleys, driveways, fire lanes, or intersection sight lines.
