Sec. 24-67 sets the schedule and rules for yard trimmings, treated separately from garbage and trash under this chapter. Collection runs twice per month, with no more than one load per address, and a load is defined the same way as bulk trash: a single pile no bigger than five feet by ten feet. Residents place trimmings in a distinct pile between the curb and sidewalk (or near the street if there's no sidewalk) on their scheduled day, keeping the pile clear of sidewalks, streets, alleys, driveways, fire lanes, and intersection sightlines.

As with trash, city and contractor vehicles won't enter private property, and crews won't collect trimmings placed more than five feet behind the street right-of-way. The ordinance sets specific size limits for what can go in the pile: limbs and logs up to twelve inches in diameter can't exceed six feet in length, while limbs and logs between twelve and twenty-eight inches in diameter can't exceed two feet in length. Piles must be kept separate from trash and garbage. A separate obligation applies to tree removal: if a resident (or anyone hired) cuts down a tree over six inches in diameter, the resident must remove all limbs, logs, trunks, and tops from the property within seven days at his own expense, except wood kept for firewood. Anyone hiring a tree service must notify the department of public works in advance under Sec. 00) per load.
