Carson, CA Trash & Recycling: Dumpster Rules (2026)

Under CMC § 5274, in Part 7 (Commercial/Industrial Collection) of Chapter 2 (Collection of Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials), every commercial/industrial business owner must provide a solid waste container location on the premises and keep that area in good repair, clean, and free of refuse outside the container. Standard commercial containers are defined at CMC § 5201(aa) as two, three, four, six, or eight cubic-yard bins, or fifteen, twenty-five, or forty cubic-yard roll-off boxes or compactors approved by the City Administrator. Collectors, not businesses, are separately required to maintain any containers they themselves own and to clean up spillage from emptying them.
