Longmont, CO Trash & Recycling: Dumpster Rules (2026)

Customers shall place solid waste, recycling, and organics collection containers as follows:1.Where the city collects at a public street, directly to the right or left of the driveway at the curbline. Where the city collects at a public alley, adjacent to the premises in the alley or across from the alley. The director may identify more specific locations.2.If the street or alley is not a public street or alley, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide the city with the written consent of the owner of the street or alley for city collection vehicles to use the street or alley for collection in a location approved by the director.3.Containers shall be placed a minimum of two feet from each other and at least 3½ feet on both sides of the container from any parked motor vehicle or stationary object.B.The combined weight of each container and its contents shall not exceed 335 pounds.
