Wicomico County, MD Trash & Recycling: Holiday Pickup Schedule (2026)

G sets the holiday schedule for every county solid waste facility, landfill, convenience center and recycling center alike. Subsection (1) lists six fixed closure days: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, closing all facilities on those dates unless the county posts a different notice. Subsection (2) adds a more flexible layer for convenience and recycling centers specifically: they may also close on any other County-declared holiday the Wicomico County Council approves, but the Department of Public Works can keep facilities open during a holiday closure window when operational needs require it, as long as that decision is determined and publicly posted in advance.
