The City of Katy contracts with Texas Pride Disposal for residential trash and recycling collection, with set-out times, container standards, and routes governed by city ordinance.
Article 13.02 of the Katy Code of Ordinances governs solid waste collection citywide. Residents must place carts at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on their assigned collection day. Texas Pride Disposal collects garbage and single-stream recycling on routes assigned by address. Carts must be city-approved or provided by the contractor, and large privately-owned containers over 55 gallons cannot be placed on another person's property without a public works permit. Service is limited to residential and small business customers within city limits.
Setting out trash late, using non-approved containers, or leaving carts at the curb beyond allowed times can result in citations, missed pickups, and fines under the solid waste ordinance.
