Katy residents receive weekly bulk pickup of up to three bulky items plus quarterly Super Heavy Trash collection, with strict limits on prohibited materials.
Texas Pride Disposal, the City of Katy's contracted hauler, collects up to three bulky items each week placed at the curb next to the regular garbage cart. Items include furniture, appliances, and objects too large for the cart. Quarterly Super Heavy Trash events allow residents to set out bulky items, bags, and bundles up to a six cubic yard volume. Prohibited items include dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete, liquid paints, fuels, oils, tires, pesticides, fertilizer, batteries, pallets, construction debris, and hazardous waste.
Setting out prohibited materials, exceeding the six cubic yard quarterly limit, or placing bulk items on non-collection days can lead to refused pickups and citations under the solid waste ordinance.
