Sugar Land, TX Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Section 3-148 of the Sugar Land Code defines bulky waste as large items that cannot fit inside the city's garbage cart, including white goods, bicycles, furniture, rugs, mattresses, televisions, fence material, auto parts, and other similarly oversized items customary to ordinary residential housekeeping. Section 3-156 sets the collection rules: subsection (14) caps the amount a customer can place out for a single collection at five cubic yards of bulky waste total, and subsection (15) requires bulky waste, along with green waste, bulk cardboard, and soft recyclables, to sit no farther than four feet from the curb.
