Showing ordinances that apply to Moapa Valley, NV
Moapa Valley is an unincorporated community (population 6,289) in Clark County, Nevada. Because Moapa Valley is not an incorporated city, it does not have its own municipal code. Instead, Clark County ordinances apply directly to properties here. The pickup rules & schedules rules below are the ones that govern your area.
Republic Services is the franchised waste hauler for unincorporated Clark County. Residential customers receive weekly trash pickup and bi-weekly recycling pickup. Carts must be placed curbside by the scheduled day and removed the same day.
Clark County Code Title 9 (Sanitation) establishes the franchise system for residential and commercial solid waste collection. Republic Services holds the exclusive franchise for unincorporated Clark County and most incorporated cities in the Las Vegas Valley. Residential single-family customers receive once-a-week trash collection in a 95-gallon cart and every-other-week single-stream recycling in a separate 95-gallon cart. Service days are assigned by neighborhood and can be looked up through Republic Services. Carts must be placed at the curb by 6 am on pickup day, with at least three feet of clearance between carts and from obstructions such as mailboxes, vehicles, or utility poles. Carts must be removed from the curb by end of the pickup day and stored out of view from the public right-of-way in most residential zones. Overfilled carts with lids that do not close, or bags placed outside the cart, may be refused. Hazardous waste, liquids, construction debris, tires, batteries, and electronics are not accepted in regular collection — these must go to designated facilities such as the Republic Services transfer station or the Apex Regional Landfill. Extreme heat in summer months can affect Republic schedules and cart maintenance. Missed-pickup complaints are handled by Republic Services directly.
Setting out carts early, leaving them at curbside past the pickup day, or overfilling can result in a non-collection tag. Repeat issues can draw Code Enforcement citations under Title 11 (blight) or Title 9. Illegal dumping is separately prosecutable under Nevada NRS 444.630.
