Orland Park, IL Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Orland Park contracts with Waste Management for residential refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection. Service is weekly, with pickup days assigned by neighborhood. Trash and single-stream recycling are collected the same day with separate trucks. Residents are issued a 95-gallon trash cart and a 95-gallon recycling cart (other sizes may be available); these are the property of Waste Management. Bagged refuse outside the cart may be subject to per-bag fees with appropriate Village stickers, depending on the current contract terms. Cart placement at the curb must be at least 3 feet from other carts, vehicles, and obstructions to allow truck arm pickup. Yard waste collection is seasonal (typically April through November) and requires Village stickers on Kraft paper bags or labeled rigid containers; loose yard waste is not collected. Holidays may delay collection by one day. Severe weather may also delay collection. Residents should report missed pickups to Waste Management directly. The Village's annual cost is included in property tax billing.
