Schaumburg provides weekly curbside trash collection through a contracted hauler. Residents must use approved containers and place them curbside by 6:00 AM on collection day, removing them by midnight.
The Village of Schaumburg contracts with a waste hauler for weekly residential trash collection. Each household receives a 65-gallon or 95-gallon wheeled cart for refuse. Carts must be placed at the curb by 6:00 AM on the scheduled collection day and removed from the curb by midnight the same day. Carts should be placed with the handle facing the house, at least 3 feet from mailboxes, cars, and other obstructions. Excess trash beyond the cart capacity may be placed in bags next to the cart. Prohibited items include hazardous waste, electronics, tires, construction debris, and liquids. The Village holds periodic special collection events for electronics and household hazardous waste. Collection schedules may be delayed one day following major holidays.
Warning notice for improper cart placement or leaving carts out past deadline. Repeated violations may result in fines up to $75.
