Every household in the Town of Babylon's residential improvement area must separate recyclables from trash and put them at the curb separately for pickup: participation is mandatory, not optional, under Chapter 133.
There is hereby established a program for the mandatory separation of recyclable materials from solid waste by all persons within the residential improvement area of the Town of Babylon. This program shall apply only to residential recyclable materials. Participation in the residential recyclable program is mandatory. Failure to participate shall subject the owner and/or occupant of a residence to fines set forth in Article VII.
