League City, TX Trash & Recycling: Recycling Requirements (2026)

AmeriWaste League City, Inc. is the primary trash provider for League City's 34,000 plus residential and commercial customers. To make trash pickup more efficient, the City has three trash zones. Residents are asked to use a trash receptacle of 55 gallons or less, as per the City's agreement with AmeriWaste. Residents are provided with a 48-gallon closed-top, wheeled cart for recycling. All trash placed inside your regular trash bin must be bagged. New Trash Services: As of May 1, 2025, League City will enter into a new contract with AmeriWaste. As part of this contract, new services will be added and the garbage rates for residential customers will increase from $21.36/month to $21.69/month, including fees and sales tax. Trash Pickup Days: Yellow Zone: Mondays & Thursdays; Green Zone: Tuesdays & Fridays; Blue Zone: Wednesdays & Saturdays. Trash Pickup Timeframe: You have a trash day, not a trash time. Trash pickup will be anywhere between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on pickup days. Customers are asked to have their trash cans placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on their designated days, but no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before.
