Pearland provides weekly single-stream curbside recycling through Frontier Waste Solutions, allowing residents to commingle paper, plastic, glass, and metal in one cart without pre-sorting.
Pearland's curbside recycling program is administered through the City's solid waste contract authorized in Chapter 12 of the Code of Ordinances. Recyclables are collected weekly on a residential household's recycling day. The program is single-stream, meaning all accepted items go into one cart without sorting. Accepted materials include newspapers, glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans, foil, clear or translucent plastic bottles, juice boxes and cartons, paperboard, magazines, flattened cardboard, junk mail, and brown paper bags. Carts must follow the same 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. setout window as trash.
Contaminating recycling carts with non-recyclables, food waste, or hazardous items may result in cart tagging, non-collection, and contamination fees passed through from the hauler.
