Section 111.01 defines YARD WASTE narrowly: grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs less than four inches in diameter, and tree and vegetation trimmings. That narrow definition matters because § 111.21 exempts yard waste from the private haulers' collection duty entirely, stating that solid waste collectors operating in the county are not responsible for collecting anything meeting that definition. Instead, the disposal of yard waste is the individual generator's duty, and the code sends it to a single named location: the City of Paducah Compost Facility at 1560 North 8th Street, Paducah, Kentucky 42001, even though that facility sits inside the city the county code otherwise treats as a separate jurisdiction.

Because yard waste is carved out of ordinary trash service, § 111.22(S) separately lists 'stumps, logs, tree limbs, and other yard waste as defined herein' among the materials that may not be deposited in a household solid waste container or receptacle at all, alongside items like chemicals and construction debris. A resident who bags grass clippings or a small trimmed limb curbside for the regular hauler is technically outside both the collection contract and the container rules; the code's structure assumes self-haul to the Paducah facility rather than curbside yard-waste pickup.
