The sanitation department picks up brush alongside regular trash, but Chapter 110 sets prep rules first: tree limbs and other brush must be trimmed to no more than three feet long and stacked in accumulations sanitation crews can easily lift, placed next to your containerized trash or wherever the sanitation director designates. Small cuttings and loose material go in an approved container instead of being left loose. Residential brush piles over one cubic yard per collection count as a "heavy accumulation" and trigger an added charge (actual collection cost plus ten percent) on your monthly bill.
