05, folds street-tree planting into the East End Master Plan cross-sections required for new public or private streets within the Business Center District's subdistricts. 05(g)(3) requires that, in addition to the Manual of Design for Public Improvements, new streets there follow the Master Plan's recommendations by street classification. For major arterial streets, built to the cross-section in Figure 1222-A, trees must go in the tree lawns and street median with a maximum separation of 70 feet on center. Minor arterial streets, per Figure 1222-B, tighten that to a 55-foot maximum separation, and also require a sidewalk on one side of the street and a bike path on the other, with the Development Code Administrator picking which side based on topography and planned pathways.

Collector streets, under Figure 1222-C, and local streets both drop to a 40-foot maximum tree separation, with the same sidewalk and bike-path pairing required for collectors; local streets follow the Manual of Design for Public Improvements for their cross-section and allow the tree lawn to be narrowed for wider sidewalks with sign-off from the Development Code Administrator and City Engineer. 05(d) through (f), which do not carry the same tree-spacing figures. The provision was adopted with the rest of the subdivision design chapter under Ord. O2018-02, passed 2-20-2018.
