020(B) of the Water Waste and Water Shortage Contingency Plan chapter lists 'the escape of water through breaks or leaks within the customer's plumbing or private distribution system for a period of time greater than seventy-two hours after discovery of the break or leak or receipt of notice from the city' as a prohibited nonessential water use. In practice, that gives a Rohnert Park customer a 72-hour clock to repair a known leak once they notice it themselves or the city flags it, whichever comes first; letting it run longer is treated the same as hosing down a driveway or running a non-recirculating car wash, both barred nonessential uses under the same section.
