05(n) permits keeping chickens, ducks, rabbits and similar animals in residential districts to prevent nuisances and unsanitary or unsafe conditions for neighboring properties. The number allowed is capped at one animal per 800 square feet of parcel or lot area, so a standard 8,000-square-foot residential lot supports up to ten birds. 05, meaning the same 5-foot rear and side setback, 10-foot separation from other buildings, and 15-foot height limit that apply to sheds. Roosters, geese and turkeys are barred outright unless the parcel exceeds one acre in area and the coop or cage housing the birds sits at least 50 feet from every property line; no predatory birds may be kept under this section at all.

Birds must have access to an outdoor enclosure that is adequately fenced or otherwise bounded both to contain them on the property and to block access by dogs and other predators. Because the coop rules cross-reference the accessory building standards, a coop that is oversized or too close to a lot line is a Zoning Ordinance violation on that basis as well as on the animal-count basis.
