Under SPMC animal control provisions and Ventura County Animal Regulation Ordinance, all dogs must be on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length when on any public street, sidewalk, park, or public property in Santa Paula. Dogs must be licensed annually with Ventura County and display license tags at all times. Rabies vaccination is required for licensing. Dogs may be off-leash only in designated off-leash areas or on private property with the owner's permission. Dogs at large (running loose) may be impounded by Ventura County Animal Services. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs on public property.
