Euless bans dangerous wild animals under Code Chapter 10 and TX H&S 822 Subchapter E. Prohibited: big cats, bears, primates, venomous snakes, large constrictors. Common exotic pets usually allowed.
Under the Euless Code of Ordinances Chapter 10 and the statewide Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 822, Subchapter E (Dangerous Wild Animals), it is unlawful to keep lions, tigers, cougars, bears, non-human primates, venomous reptiles, large constrictor snakes, and certain other species without a state-issued dangerous wild animal registration. Euless, like most Texas cities, does not issue municipal permits for dangerous wild animals and effectively bans their possession within residential zones. Common exotic pets such as non-venomous reptiles, parrots, ferrets, and sugar gliders are generally allowed. Licensed zoos, educational institutions, and USDA-registered exhibitors are exempt. Owners of a dangerous wild animal found in violation face Class C misdemeanor charges and animal seizure.
