As required by occupancy, the following provisions shall be applicable:(a)Exterior exit doors, if operable from the exterior, shall have at least one (1) lock that is key-operated from the exterior.(b)Locks on exterior doors shall have a minimum of six thousand (6,000) possible key changes or locking combinations.(c)Where a key-in-the-knob-type latch set is specified, there shall be an auxiliary dead-bolt-type lock provided complying with the definitions set forth herein.(d)Dead bolts shall be hardened or contain inserts.(e)Alternate devices to equally resist illegal entry, such as but not limited to combination locks as defined in section 6-351 herein, may be substituted subject to approval by the building official and where in accordance with the resistance standards set forth in Division 2 of this article.(f)Locks on doors, where such locks are required to be intrusion and are burglar-resistant, shall be capable of resisting a force of three-hundred (300) pounds applied in any movable direction and otherwise in accordance with the resistance standards set forth in Division 2 of this article.
