Inglewood, CA Building Safety: Electrical Permits (2026)

Section 11-15 adopts the 'California Electrical Code, 2019 Edition,' based on the National Electrical Code, 2017 Edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Association, together with the Uniform Administrative Code Provisions for the National Electrical Code, 1996 Edition, as the 'Electrical Code of and for the City of Inglewood,' with a full printed copy kept on file with the City Clerk. ' The City instead regulates electrical work through its permit and fee sections. Section 11-19 requires that when an Electrical Permit application is submitted, the fee for each permit is set forth by City Council resolution rather than a fixed state fee table.

Section 11-20 separately governs electrical plan review: a plan review fee is due when plans or other data must be submitted for review, an additional plan review fee applies if plans are incomplete or later changed, and an expedited plan check fee is available on request, with each fee amount again set by Council resolution. Because the Electrical Code carries no local technical amendments, the National Electrical Code and Uniform Administrative Code Provisions govern the actual wiring, load, and installation standards enforced by the Building Official citywide.
