Full Breakdown
The City of Chino adopted by reference the 2022 California Plumbing Code, incorporating the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code and Chapter 1, Division II, to regulate installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and to set inspection standards within the city. Fees for plumbing permits are assessed under the locally amended fee section as set by resolution of the city council rather than a fixed code figure. The code also adds a local requirement that new residential garages include a gas line and electrical outlet near the vehicle fuel opening for future CNG vehicle fueling. Adopted by Ord. 2022-015, § 1, 7-19-2022.
Violations & Fines
Installing, altering, or repairing plumbing without the required permit and inspections under the adopted Plumbing Code exposes the work to being red-tagged, and the city can charge double the normal permit fee for work started before a permit is issued.
