Kendall County, IL Building Safety: Plumbing Permits (2026)

The County Building Code substitutes the Illinois Plumbing Code for the International Plumbing Code throughout Chapter 8: Kendall County Code § 8-27 adopts the Illinois Plumbing Code, as amended and published by the Illinois Department of Public Health, by reference as the governing rules for installing, repairing or altering plumbing, private water supply systems, private storm drainage systems and private sewage disposal systems. The same substitution is written into the International Building Code amendments at Section 8-24(2), which deletes the reference to the International Plumbing Code and inserts the current Illinois Plumbing Code edition, and into the General Amendments at Sections 8-24(10) and 8-25(9).
