South Jordan, UT Building Safety: Plumbing Permits (2026)

South Jordan City Code § 15.08.020 adopts the most recent version of the building, residential, plumbing, mechanical, administrative, energy conservation, fuel gas and existing building codes, as adopted by the State of Utah, together with listed appendices, as the city's building code. Because the plumbing code is folded into this same state-adopted package rather than issued as a stand-alone city code, plumbing work requiring a permit is covered by the general permit rule at § 15.04.090, which makes unpermitted work a class B misdemeanor, and by the inspection authority in § 15.04.150.
