Sec. 6-125 defines a sexually oriented business as an adult bookstore or video store, adult cabaret, adult motel, adult motion picture theater, semi-nude model studio, sexual device shop or sexual encounter center. Sec. 6-130 bars operating any of these without a business license and bars any employee, as the article defines that term, from working without an employee license. Applicants must file annually in person with the township clerk, submit true names used in the preceding five years, proof of age, the business address and legal description, the statutory agent's name, and disclose any conviction for a specified criminal activity or any prior nuisance finding against a business in which the applicant held an influential interest.

Sec. 6-131 requires the clerk to act within 30 days, issuing a temporary license immediately to a pre-existing, lawfully operating business while the full application is reviewed, and it lists denial grounds: under 18 years old, incomplete or false information, unpaid fees, noncompliance with zoning or interior-configuration rules, a prior nuisance finding, or a disqualifying conviction. Sec. 6-132 sets fees by Township Board resolution. Sec. 6-135 expires every license annually on March 31. Sec. 6-155 forbids these businesses from opening or remaining open between midnight and 6:00 a.m., except adult motels.

Sec. 6-156 requires posted no-loitering signs, an employee monitoring the property at least every 90 minutes or continuous video monitoring, and exterior lighting meeting zoning ordinance section 5.6. Sec. 6-157 bans nudity, limits semi-nude performers to staying six feet from patrons on a stage at least 18 inches high in a room of at least 1,000 square feet, bars performer-patron touching, and bans alcohol on the premises entirely.
