City Code § 30.40.40 lists the uses that can never qualify as a home occupation in Gilroy, no matter how small the operation, and subsection (b) names "the repair or reconditioning on the residential site for commercial purposes of motor vehicles or equipment, boats, or recreation vehicles, or display for sale of any vehicle" as one of them. The same list bars animal hospitals and commercial animal grooming or training, beauty parlors and barber shops, medical, dental, or chiropractic clinics, storage or use of hazardous materials beyond consumer-product quantities, generation of hazardous waste, and discharge of nondomestic wastewater, including commercial food preparation and dish cleaning, into the sanitary sewer.
