Section 14-6-7.C draws a hard line that no conditional use permit or BTR application can cross: it lists uses that "are not allowed as either standard or extended home occupations in any residential district." Automotive work sits twice on that list. C.8 prohibits "vehicle repair of any kind, including bodywork, detailing, washing and work done to the interior of the vehicle," language broad enough to cover a driveway oil change or a weekend detailing side business, not just a full mechanic's shop. C.5 backs that up from the other direction, barring "repair shops" generally and allowing only "the repairs of small household appliances, clothing and similar personal items," a category that plainly excludes cars, trucks, motorcycles or boats.

Because C applies "in any residential district," the prohibition reaches every zoning classification where a home occupation could otherwise be considered, including RB-2 and RPB, the two districts that allow extended home occupations under § 14-6-7.B. A resident cannot get around the ban by seeking a conditional use permit for an extended home occupation, since C's list operates independently of the standard/extended distinction and of the underlying zoning district. The same subsection rules out several other home-based businesses that residents sometimes assume are permitted, including restaurants, kennels and veterinary clinics, funeral homes, dance or exercise studios, beauty and barber shops (unless appointment-only with a single customer at a time), and cabinet or furniture manufacturing, assembly or repair including refinishing and upholstery.
