Kissimmee, FL Business Licensing & Operations: Pawnbrokers (2026)

No more than five pawnbrokers shall be licensed to operate in the city at any one time, up until such point as the population exceeds 100,000. At such time as the population exceeds 100,000, a new license may be issued per each 20,000 of population growth.(b)Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, any pawnbroker licensed to operate in the city as of the date of adoption of the ordinance from which this section is derived may remain so licensed as long as such pawnbroker shall remain continuously in operation.(c)The city shall not issue any license to operate as a pawnbroker, except to renew any license in good standing, unless the number of pawnbrokers licensed has been reduced below the maximum prescribed herein.(d)When the number of pawnbrokers in the city has reached the maximum prescribed herein, no further permits shall be issued by the city.(e)For purposes of this section, the term "pawnbroker" shall be deemed to include pawnbrokers' sales stores.(f)A pawnbroker may not be within a one-mile radius of any other pawnbroker.
