Royal Oak's zoning code does not name automotive repair specifically, but its home occupation standards in § 770-25 combine to bar it as a residential home business. Subsection C prohibits a home occupation from creating a nuisance or endangering health, safety, welfare or enjoyment of others by reason of noise, vibration, glare, fumes, odor, unsanitary or unsightly conditions, or fire hazards, all of which are inherent to engine, exhaust, and body work performed at a house.
