Full Breakdown
, and if unlicensed individuals are found providing services, any conditional use approval already granted becomes void automatically, without a separate revocation hearing. Beyond licensing, the Borough imposes physical standards: each treatment room must be at least 50 square feet and lit to at least 20 footcandles measured three feet above the floor, roughly the light of a single 40-watt fluorescent bulb in a room that size, and every treatment room door must be incapable of being locked from either side. m. Operational transparency is required too: the facility must prominently and publicly display its license, each therapist's individual license must be available for inspection, and price rates must be posted in the reception area with no charges permitted beyond those posted prices.
An owner, licensee or manager must be on the premises at all times the business is open and must wear an identification badge. No eating, drinking or alcohol is permitted on-site, and no animals other than service animals may be present. A prior age-restriction subsection barring minors was repealed by Ord. No. 2203 in 2021 and is now marked reserved.
Violations & Fines
Providing massage therapy without the required Commonwealth license automatically voids the center's conditional use approval, exposing the business to a zoning enforcement shutdown by the Zoning Officer without further Council action. Operating outside the 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. window, failing to post prices or licenses, leaving a treatment room door lockable, or serving alcohol on the premises are each independent violations of the § 401(31) conditions attached to the use, enforceable the same way as any other conditional-use breach under Chapter 27.
