Cheyenne, WY Business Licensing & Operations: Pawnbrokers (2026)

Any person desiring to conduct business as a pawnbroker within the city must first submit written application, together with a nonrefundable annual license fee of one hundred fifty-five dollars ($155.00) per location, on forms provided by the city clerk. A license must be obtained prior to conducting of business. In addition, unless a person has first obtained a license from the administrator of the Wyoming Uniform Consumer Credit Code, authorizing him or her to engage in the business of making supervised loans pursuant to Wyoming Statute provisions, he or she must not engage in business as a pawnbroker.B.Any person holding a city pawnbroker business license will not be required to obtain a city secondhand dealer license for the same business.C.Any applicant for a pawnbroker license must execute to the city a bond in the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), conditioned that in the conduct of such business the licensee will respect and obey the provisions of this code and other city ordinances applicable thereto and will pay all damages that may accrue to any person by reason of any fraud of misconduct in managing such business.D.Licenses issued, including renewal licenses, will be in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5.04.
