Violations & Fines
Operating a tattoo or piercing business as a home occupation, or opening one in a district where 'personal service establishment' isn't a listed use, is a zoning violation under Section 36.2-571. The Zoning Administrator can issue a written notice ordering the use stopped or relocated, and unresolved violations are prosecuted as a misdemeanor under Virginia Code Section 15.2-2286.A.5, with each day of continued operation a separate offense.
